  • Do you mow lawns as well?
We don’t offer mowing or sod installation. Our lawn care services specialize in fertilization and weed control, with additional options like aeration and pest control treatments.
  • How can I make my lawn as lush as a golf course?
Golf courses are maintained by dedicated greenskeepers—highly trained specialists who mow multiple times a week, carefully regulate irrigation, and apply precise treatments as needed. This level of upkeep requires constant attention and expert care. For most homeowners, this intensive maintenance isn’t practical or cost-effective. Many who attempt it end up over-fertilizing, which can lead to lawn diseases. Professional residential lawn care offers an affordable, effective way to achieve a lush, healthy lawn without the hassle.
  • Why is my grass lifting in sections?
This is a strong indicator of a grub infestation, as grubs feed on grass roots, causing the lawn to lift easily. Another sign of grubs is the presence of moles, which tunnel through the soil in search of them, creating the turf disruptions you’re seeing. We offer grub prevention treatments in August for customers who request the service. However, if you notice grubs, moles, or loose patches of turf, contact us right away—we can provide treatment at any time of the year.
  • How much water does my lawn need?
Lawns require about one inch of water per week from rainfall or irrigation to remain green and healthy. To check soil moisture, use a soil probe by inserting a screwdriver or spike into the ground. If it pushes through easily, the soil has enough moisture. If there’s resistance, the soil is dry and needs watering. For best results, water deeply once or twice a week rather than frequent, shallow watering to encourage strong root growth.
  • What’s the best grass for the Atlanta area?
Bermuda, Zoysia (warm-season grasses), and Fescue (a cool-season grass) are all great options for metro Atlanta lawns. However, sodded Bermuda has zero shade tolerance, making it unsuitable for yards with dense tree cover or closely spaced houses.
  • What are the small, light-colored spots appearing on my lawn?
This sounds like dollar spot disease, a fungal issue that starts as small tan or silver spots about the size of a silver dollar and can spread quickly. It can be treated with a specialized fungicide, and the right fertilizer often helps as well. If you're part of our lawn care program, a Certified Lawn Technician can provide a free service call to diagnose the issue and recommend the best treatment.
  • I'm seeing brown patches in my Fescue lawn—what could be causing them, and how can I fix it?
This is likely brown patch disease, a fungal issue that commonly affects Fescue in warm, humid conditions. Treatment typically requires a fungicide, but it's important to get a proper diagnosis before applying any treatment. If you're enrolled in one of our lawn care programs, a Certified Lawn Technician can provide a free service call to assess the issue and recommend the best solution.
  • Why are weeds still appearing in my lawn after treatment?
After treatment, broadleaf weeds like dandelions typically take about two weeks to fully die off. You’ll know the treatment is working when the leaves start browning and wilting. However, certain tough weeds may require specialized herbicides. In the Atlanta area, nutsedge and Virginia buttonweed are particularly stubborn. If you’re dealing with persistent weeds, request a service call, and a Certified Lawn Technician will assess the issue and provide a treatment estimate.
